An analytical study to find association between Prakriti and Blood group (ABO and Rh) with Special reference to stress.

Aim- Understanding association betweenPrakriti and Blood Group (ABO and Rh) with special reference to stress– a Crosssectional study

Need of study: There is a growing evidence of increasedprevalence of psychological problems (stress, depression, anxiety, andsubstance abuse) and feelings of burnout among medical professionals all overthe world and this has been shown to be associated with lapses in patient care.Data from many studies suggest that one-third of physicians experience burnoutat several points throughout their careers. It is proposed that burnout beginsto cultivate its seeds during the medical schooldays, continues throughout theresidency period, and finally matures in the daily life of practicingphysicians[i]. Studiesamong medical students have reported the existence of stress among three-fourthof the participants[ii] and those involvinginterns have reported the prevalence of stress to be as high as 91.1%[iii].The overall prevalence of stress among medical students was found to be 54%[iv].Not only scholars but faculty members also go through the phase of stress asthey have to carry out research works and many administrative works along withconstant updating in their respective subjects. There are various studiesshowing prevalence of stress in different prakriti individuals. Alsostudies are reported on the prevalence of stress levels in different bloodgroups. There is an established association between blood groups and cancers,peptic ulcer, coagulation disorders, bleeding disorders, clotting disorders,infections, and renal diseases. Past research has associated ABO blood type andmental stress with cardiovascular risk[v]. Herein this study an effort is made to understand the association between prakritiand blood groups with special reference to level of stress among the healthcareprofessionals including scholars and faculties in the National Institute ofAyurveda, Jaipur.

Null Hypothesis

There is no association in Prakritiand Blood Group with special reference to stress.

AlternateHypothesis

There is association in Prakriti and Blood Group withspecial reference to stress.
