patients with plan for image guided catheter drainage procedure for infected collections
a)Thrombocytopenia defined by platelets < 100,000
b)Patients on medications like vitamin K antagonists, abciximab, tirofiban, ticlopidine or antiplatelet agents(ecospirin, clopidogrel) or heparin / anti Xa inhibitors.
c)Known congenital or acquired bleeding diathesis or factor deficiencies (Haemophilia, Von Willebrand Disease)
d)Contraindication to FFP transfusion (eg: fluid overload, anuria)
e)Contraindication to image guided drainage due to anatomical reasons (proximity to vascular structures) or persistence of severe coagulopathy (INR > 3) after receiving weight based prophylactic FFP transfusion.
