1.Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria of Depression as per ICD-10
2.Drug Naïve patients of depression attending LGBRIMH OPD or admitted for inpatient treatment at LGBRIMH.
3.Age- 18 to 45 years
4.Duration of illness <2years
5.Willing to provide informed consent
1. Patients fulfilling criteria for depression with psychotic symptoms according to ICD-10 (F 32.3)
2.Chronic medical illness or any comorbid psychiatric disorders
3.History of use of any substance in dependence pattern except nicotine and caffeine
4.BMI >23kg/m2
5.Haemoglobin level <13mg/dL in males and <12mg/dL in females with MCV >100fL
6.Illiterate patients
