Patients presenting to our outpatient department of dentistry requiring removal of their lower third molar tooth will be given orally Dexamethasone therapy either before or after the tooth removal to compare its effectiveness.

Inclusion Criteria

1.Patients of either sex and age groups from 18-45 years.

2.Patients who are healthy, non smoking, with no or minimal alcohol use--ASA I; Or patients with well controlled mild to moderate systemic disease or are healthy ASA I patients who demonstrate a more extreme anxiety and fear toward dentistry--ASA II.

3.All types of only fully impacted lower third molars are considered.

4.Patients should be having good oral hygiene.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Pregnant / lactating females.

2.Subjects who were on antibiotics and/or anti-inflammatory drugs steroids or any other medications within 24 hours of the study entry.

3 Subjects with any active medical illness or dental diseases that can affect the surgical procedure.

Primary Outcome Measures

Better welfare of the patients by helping them to return to their normal activity following surgical procedure of impacted mandibular third molar.Timepoint: At 2nd,5th and 7th post operative days.

1.Evaluating post surgical complications like pain, oedema and limited mouth opening (trismus). <br/ ><br>2.Oral Health Related Quality of Life(OHRQol) in both the groups during the study period using Oral Health Impact Profile Questionnaire (OHIP-14) SCALE. <br/ ><br>3.To observe and record the adverse drug reactions,if any, in both the groups during the study period. <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Timepoint: At 2nd,5th and 7th post operative days.
