Eligibility Criteria
- Ages
- 0 to 0 (—)
Inclusion Criteria
- •1. They are> 45 years old
- •2. They have an expectation of postoperative stay> at 24 hours for surgical reasons
- •3. Meet any of the following 6 criteria:
- •A. history of coronary artery disease
- •B. Vascular artery disease
- •C. History of Stroke
- •D. Hospitalization by ICC within 3 years prior to randomization.
- •E. Patients going to vascular surgery
Exclusion Criteria
- •1. Contraindication for metoprolol
- •2. There is a clinical need for beta-blocker use preoperatively or during the first 30 days postoperatively
- •3. Previous adverse reaction to a beta blocker
- •4. Coronary revascularization surgery in the previous 5 years and no evidence of cardiac ischemia since surgery
- •5. Patients who undergo low-risk surgical procedures
