- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of a mindfulness-based exercise compared to an active control group in healthy children and adolescents. To investigate the effect, the children and adolescents are asked about their current mood, stress and mindfulness state before and after the mindfulness exercise (intervention group) or listening to an audio book extract (control group) using a self-created rating scale based on the multidimensional well-being questionnaire (Steyer, Schwenkmezger, Notz & Eid, 1997).
As an additional physiological parameter, the heart rate is recorded before and during the mindfulness exercise or listening to the audio book extract using an electrode.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method As a secondary goal, possible moderating effects on the effects of mindfulness practice compared to the control group through dispositional mindfulness, personality traits and psychological well-being will also be investigated. The above-mentioned constructs are to be assessed by using the following instruments before executing the intervention: Self-Compassion Scale – German Version (SCS-D: Hupfeld & Ruffieux, 2011); 10 Item Big Five Inventory (BFI-10: Rammstedt & John, 2007); State-Trait-Angst-Depressions-Inventar (STADI: Laux, Hock, Bergner-Köther, Hodapp & Renner, 2013)
