All adult patients undergoing VATS oesophagectomy requiring one lung ventilation
EXCLUSION CRITERIA:
1)ASA physical status 3 and above
2)Valvular heart disease
3)LVEF less than 50%
4)FEV1 less than 60% predicted
5)DLCO less than 60% predicted
6)Patients unable to give a valid consent
7)All patients where Double Lumen Tube or Endobronchial Blocker placement was found to be unsatisfactory .
8)Patients requiring mephenteramine to maintain blood pressure within 10 min prior to institution of ARM.
