Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients with Chronic periodontitis will be diagnosed when there is attachment loss ââ?°Â¥5mm in more than 30% of teeth
- •Patients with more than or equal to 20 teeth
- •Patients with clinical bleeding on probing.
- •Patients were considered to be diabetic when presenting with fasting glucose levels in excess of 126mg/dL and glycated hemoglobin above 6.5%
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients suffering from any systemic condition(except type IIdiabetes) that could affect the periodontal disease (immunological disorders) and affect the level of Plasma Osteoprotegerin levels.
- •Smokers, alcoholics, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
- •Patients needing prophylactic antibiotic medication in association with periodontal probing.
- •Patients who used antibiotics or periodontal treatment in the past 6 months.
