Patients with Chronic periodontitis will be diagnosed when there is attachment loss �5mm in more than 30% of teeth
Patients with more than or equal to 20 teeth
Patients with clinical bleeding on probing.
Patients were considered to be diabetic when presenting with fasting glucose levels in excess of 126mg/dL and glycated hemoglobin above 6.5%
Patients suffering from any systemic condition(except type IIdiabetes) that could affect the periodontal disease (immunological disorders) and affect the level of Plasma Osteoprotegerin levels.
Smokers, alcoholics, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Patients needing prophylactic antibiotic medication in association with periodontal probing.
Patients who used antibiotics or periodontal treatment in the past 6 months.
