Brief Summary

The research study titled "A comparative study on clinical aspects of Tele-rehabilitation and virtual reality therapies in patients with lower back pain" aims to investigate and compare the effectiveness of two modern healthcare interventions, tele-rehabilitation and virtual reality therapy, in managing lower back pain. Tele-rehabilitation involves remote guidance and monitoring of exercises and treatments by healthcare professionals, allowing patients to access rehabilitation services from their homes. Virtual reality therapy utilizes immersive digital environments to engage patients in therapeutic exercises and activities.

The study seeks to determine which of these two approaches, tele-rehabilitation or virtual reality therapy, yields better clinical outcomes in terms of pain reduction, functional improvement, and overall patient satisfaction. By comparing the effectiveness of these innovative therapies, the research aims to contribute valuable insights into the management of lower back pain and enhance the quality of care provided to patients experiencing this common musculoskeletal condition.

Patients recruitment will be from the Delhi-NCR Region primarily the GD Goenka OPD will be the Central data collection center. and all the patients will file the consent physically.

Monitoring patient compliance with exercises in both virtual reality (VR) and tele-rehabilitation (tele-rehab) settings is crucial for the success. for that patients will be observed for the compliance of the exercises that are prescribed in either of the group but the Tele-Rehab patients will be doing in the particular room allotted and will be instructed via Tele/computer means while the virtual reality patients will be performing in the another room specified and exercises will be done in virtual environment.

all the patients will be randomly selected by computer to one of the three groups for the research for 6 weeks.

Groups1(Control Group)- General Spinal exercise for Back pain which are prescribed by the Physiotherapist

Group2(TR Group)- Spinal exercises are given via Computer /Tele-phone and paitents will perform themselves.

Group3(VR Group)- Spinal exercise are performed in the virtual reality environment by the individual himself.

Pre and Post data will be collected.

Data will be recorded for the further analysis of the Research Outcomes which includes:

• Pain • Disability • Strength • ROM • Quality of Life • Sleep • Functional scale
