A subject will be eligible for inclusion in this study only if all of the following criteria applied:
1. Patients between the ages of 18-60 years of either sex.
2. Patients who are newly diagnosed or mild case of hypothyroidism with increased TSH levels(more than 5.5µIU/ml& less than 30µIU/ml)
3. Patients who are ready to switch over to ayurvedic medicine and have sign the consent form.
4. Patients who are already diagnosed as hypothyroidism and under Levo-thyroxine medication but still presenting with the increased TSH level.
A subject will not be eligible for inclusion in this study if any of the following criteria applied:
1. Patients suffering from congenital hypothyroidism and secondary hypothyroidism.
2. Pregnant women, hyperthyroidism, neoplasia, toxic goitre are excluded.
3. Patients who have under gone any type of thyroid surgery.
4. Patients whose symptoms are worsely aggravated after leaving the modern drug Levo-thyroxine (for washout period of 1 month).
5. Mentally ill/ retarded patients.
6. Drug induced hypothyroidism.
