Inclusion Criteria

Volunteers of both genders; aged between 18 and 80 years; diagnosis of type 2 diabetes confirmed for at least five years; taking oral antidiabetics; with HbA1c values between 6.5 and 8.0%; preserved cognitive functions.

Exclusion Criteria

Volunteers with cinnamon allergy; Patients who use another herbal medicine for diabetes treatment; Patients using cinnamon for diabetes treatment; Patients diagnosed with alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis or abnormal basal liver function; Patients on insulin therapy; Women breastfeeding, pregnant or on contraceptives; Patients with heart, liver or respiratory failure; Patients with bleeding disorders and who are taking coumarin derivatives.

Primary Outcome Measures

Reduction in glycemic levels;For HbA1c, it is expected to find decreased values, measured by a blood test after the intervention period, and presented as percentage values. We will look at what implications these variables will have on the management and control of the glycemic profile of patients with type 2 diabetes.;For fasting glucose, it is expected to find decreased values, measured by a blood test after the intervention period, and presented in total values of mg / dL. We will look at what implications these variables will have on the management and control of the glycemic profile of patients with type 2 diabetes.
