All adult patients presenting with isolated chest trauma being admitted in Level 1 Trauma Centre.
Age between 18 and 65 years.
Directly admitted or referred from other hospital within 24 hours of injury.
Age matched healthy siblings / nearest blood relatives of the patient for the control group.
Patients with age >65 years and age <18 years
Pregnant females.
Obese (BMI >35)
Patients having prior organ dysfunction, history of cancer or other co-morbid conditions like Diabetes Mellitus, cardio-pulmonary ailments and metabolic disorders.
Patients with hematuria or anuria at initial presentation.
