Inclusion Criteria
All patients aged 18 years or older receiving short stem hip arthroplasty and being able to give informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria
severe adipositas (BMI > 40)
multiple comorbidities (ASA Score >3)
History of malignomas
severe dementia or other causes of cognitive impairment
drug- or alcohol abuse
inability to give informed consent
pregnancy
severe coxa valga
femoral neck fracture
prior operations of the affected joint

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method radiological stem migration (subsidence)<br>Stem migration is detected using computer assisted EBRA (Einzel Bild Röntgenanalyse) of anterior-posterior X-ray of the pelvis obtained immediately postoperative as well as 6 weeks, 6, 12 and 24 months postoperatively.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method rate of complication, function, changes in periprosthetic bone density<br><br>Complications are documented. <br>Clinical function is evaluated using our own questionnaires and by calculating WOMAC- and Harris Hip Score. <br> <br>Bone density is evaluated using DEXA (Dual energy X-Ray absorptiometry) of the proximal femur pre- and 24 months postoperatively.
