1. Patients undergoing 1-3 levels of lumbar discectomy/laminectomy
2. ASA I - III
3. Age between 18 to 70 years
1. History of bleeding diathesis
2. Patients on anticoagulant treatment
3. Patients with known allergies to local anaesthetics.
4. Skin infections at the site of the block area
5. Patients who are pregnant or lactating
6. Patients with moderate to severe scoliosis or any lumbar spine anatomical abnormality
7. Difficult to visualize the sonoanatomy due to any cause.
8. Morbid obesity (BMI > 35
