简要总结
Anosognosia, or impaired awareness of deficits, is commonly observed in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and can negatively influence participation in daily activities and rehabilitation outcomes. Reduced functional awareness may limit the effectiveness of conventional occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving activities of daily living (ADLs).
This study aims to evaluate the effect of a structured Functional Awareness Training program on anosognosia and daily living skills in persons with mild Alzheimer’s disease. The study is designed as a randomized, parallel-group interventional behavioral study with pre- and post-intervention assessments.
Participants meeting the eligibility criteria will be randomly allocated into an experimental group or a control group. The experimental group will receive Functional Awareness Training in addition to conventional occupational therapy, while the control group will receive conventional occupational therapy alone. The intervention will be delivered over a period of five weeks, with sessions conducted three times per week.
Primary outcome will be change in level of anosognosia assessed using the Self-Evaluation of Daily Functioning (SED-11Q). Secondary outcome will include change in performance of activities of daily living measured using the Barthel Index. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline and at the end of the intervention period.
The findings of this study are expected to contribute to evidence regarding behavioral and rehabilitation-based approaches targeting functional awareness and daily functioning in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.
