1. Patients diagnosed with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome as per ICD-11 criteria.
2. Alcohol withdrawal assessment scoring guidelines (CIWA-AR) score <15. (mild to
moderate withdrawals as per Maudsley guidelines)
3. Age groups 25 and above.
4. Male gender.
1. Patients who are known cases of epilepsy.
2. Patient dependent on other substances except nicotine and caffeine
3. Patients with past history of complicated withdrawals
4. Patients who are intoxicated or are in severe withdrawals.
5. Patients with comorbid active psychotic illness.
6. Actively suicidal patients.
7. Patients with any acute medical or surgical illness.

Name Time Method Comparison and assessment of anxiety and depression from baseline by using scales - HAM-A, HAM-D.Timepoint: 1. At baseline <br/ ><br>2. After completion of detoxification (CIWA-Ar <8) <br/ ><br>3. After 3 months;Comparison of Lorazepam and Diazepam with reference to changes in Quantitative Electroencephalogram along with objective scale scores on SADQ and CIWA-Ar.Timepoint: 1.
