Inclusion Criteria

All preterm neonates admitted to NICU during the study period who are

1.Mechanical ventilated within 48 hours of life, for respiratory distress

2.Receive a trial of extubation

3.Admitted in NICU for minimum period of 48 hours after extubation

Exclusion Criteria

1.Major congenital malformation

2.Upper airway obstruction

3.Mechanically ventilated for non-respiratory aetiology
