1)Patients on oral intubation and recruited within 4-6 hrs of intubation
2)16 years and above
3)On VAP bundle ( Head end elevation, antibiotics, H2 receptor blocker, oral care, hand hygiene, cleaning of equipments and universal precautions)
1)Patients who are with a diagnosis of pneumonia on admission
2)Patients who are ventilated outside ICU
3)Patients on , tracheotomy, dentures, few teeth (Less than6)
4)Patients who are immune-compromised, ANC less than 500
5)Patients on immunosuppressives
6)Patients with low platelet count less than 50,000
7)Patients with oral ulcers
