Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Pain intensity is measured with the SF12 questionnaire once on each examination day (first examination at the start of the study, second examination after a six week intervention period) to assess the pain intensity level over the preceding weeks. Additionally, the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) is used to assess the current pain intensity of the patient. This scale is used twice per examination – once without the pelvic belt and once with applied pelvic belt. Thus, it is possible to investigate short- and long-term effects of the pelvic compression belt on pain intensity.
Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
Dynamic balance will be measured in an upright, standing position in medio-lateral, anterior-posterior direction via Posturomed. Center of Pressure (CoP) data will be collected to analyze corresponding parameters like CoP distance, CoP velocity, 95% confidence ellipse and envelope curve. CoP data will be collected twice per examination - once without the pelvic belt and once with applied pelvic belt. Thus, it will be possible to investigate short- and long-term effects of the pelvic compression belt on dynamic balance.

The Y-Balance-Test makes it possible to assess coordination and mobility by measuring reach distances of the lower limbs in anterior, postero-lateral and postero-medial directions. The test will be performed twice per examination - once without the pelvic belt and once with applied pelvic belt. Thus, it is possible to investigate short- and long-term effects of the pelvic compression belt on mobility and coordination.
