Bangor University's first direct intake of medical students, including school leavers and graduate entrants, began this semester, marking the start of all medical training in North Wales. The school plans to increase student numbers from 80 to 140 annually by 2029-2030. This initiative, a partnership between Bangor University, Cardiff University, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, and the Welsh Government, aims to address doctor recruitment challenges in Wales and enhance local healthcare delivery.
