Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •As per Definition of Type 2 Respiratory Failure
- •pH \< 7\.35
- •Hypoxia\- PaO2 \<60 MM OF HG
- •Hypercapnia\- PaC02 \> 45 MM OF HG
- •RR \>30/min or \<12/min
- •Patients with type 2 respiratory failure started on NIV as per physicianâ??s decision are also included in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Hemodynamic and cardiac instability
- •(Hypotension BP \<90/60 mm Hg,Unstable angina, MI ,arrythmia )
- •Pneumothorax
- •Need for intubation to protect airways
- •Impending respiratory arrest
- •Facial deformity/trauma
- •Hypersensitivity to mask material
- •Claustrophobia
- •Upper airway obstruction
- •Severe GI bleed
