after incision and drainage of simple subcutaneous abcesses in children ,37 patients were included in antibiotics group and 23 in no antibiotics group .from the antibiotics group n=36(97.3%) patients were cured and n=1(2.7%) had persistence of disease .From no antibiotics group n=19(100%)cured. in antibiotics group ,there was no Recurrence of abcsesses in n=31(91.2%) patients and n=3(8.8%) had recurrence . in no antibiotics group , there was no recurrence of abcesses in n=17(94.4%) patients and n=1(5.6%) had recurrence . p value was not significant in any case .

all patients with simple subcutaneous abscesses.
1.Patients with any generalized debilitating disease, malnourished, immunocompromised, diabetic or using steroids.
2.Having any systemic illness or more than one abscess on body.
3.Allergy to routinely used antibiotic.
4.Any break in anti-septic technique.
5.Whose parents refuse to be part of study.
6.Area of induration of more than 5cm.
7.Perineal, perianal and paronychial abscesses
