Parturients aged 20 to 40 years, of American society of anaesthesiologists physical status 1 and 2, with term singleton pregnancy scheduled for elective caesarean delivery under spinal anaesthesia.
1. Parturients with diabetes, hypertension, other cardiovascular, respiratory or hepatorenal disease, obesity (BMI >30kg/m) complicated pregnancy, foetal abnormality or distress.
2. Coagulopathy, thrombocytopenia, or any contraindications to spinal anaesthesia
3. Allergy to study medication or patients receiving 5 hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors.
