Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Adult Patients in the above age group with diagonsis of Acute exacerbation of COPD as per GOLD guidelines

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\.patient refusal
  • •2\.need for endotracheal intubation on admission to protect the airways and to mange respiratory secreations
  • •3\.inability to protect the airways \-unconscious patients,patients with cva,confused and agitated patients
  • •4\.inability to fit the niv mask due to skeletal deformity
