Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Age \>18 years
- •ASA I to III.
- •Elective/Emergency major abdominal surgeries of \> 2 hours duration.
- •Emergency abdominal surgeries which is not intubated prior to surgery.
- •Standardized analgesia with epidural.
Exclusion Criteria
- •BMI \>35 kg/m2(Morbid Obesity).
- •Obstructive lung disease.
- •Underlying lung disease.

- •Pulmonary tuberculosis
- •Pleural effusion.}.
- •Restrictive lung disease.
