Inclusion Criteria

The inclusion criteria to be part of the intervention group are have a diagnosis of Down Syndrome; have listening and listening comprehension (so that you can understand and respond to commands); be between 20 and 50 years old; have medical clearance for physical activity. To be part of the control group the inclusion criteria are be a teacher at Centro de Ensino Especial 01 in Samambaia; be between 20 and 50 years old; have medical clearance for physical activity.

Exclusion Criteria

The exclusion criteria will be the same for both the intervention group and the control group. This study will exclude participants who present any contraindications to strength training, or physical limitations for the practice of physical exercises, such as, for example, musculoskeletal problems that prevent them from performing the exercises proposed in the study; participants who present any cardiological changes that prevent them from exercising; have other associated pathologies like cerebral palsy, and or autism; refuse to participate in the research.

Muscle strength increase verified by strength tests (maximum isometric voluntary contraction test) performed with the use of the Biofeedback System for the Practice of Resistant Exercises with Elastic Overload (E-lastic ®) makes it possible to measure muscle strength in Kgf.;Decrease in oxidative stress verified by analysis of the pro- and antioxidant profile.
