Inclusion Criteria
ASA class I & II
BMI 18.5 - 24.5
Undergoing surgeries of forearm and hand
Exclusion Criteria
Patients refusal for block
Patients having bleeding disorders
Local infection at the site where needle for block was to be inserted
Allergic to study drugs
Cardiac disease or abnormal ECG findings
Patients in whom the block effect was partial and who required supplementary anesthesia

Name Time Method To evaluate and compare the onset and duration of sensory and motor blockade with lignocaine alone and with dexmedetomidine in two different doses. <br/ ><br>To study and compare the duration of postoperative analgesia in three group of patients. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Block was evaluated every 3 minutes up to 30 minutes after the injection of local anesthetic is completed. Further block assessment was done at hourly intervals up to 10 hours by a blinded anesthesiologist <br/ ><br>
