Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •acute exacerbation of asthma or COPD, requiring invasive mechanical ventilation
  • •Age \= 18 years
  • •placement of EIT belt technically possible

Exclusion Criteria

  • •pacemaker or implanted defibrillator
  • •Combination with other devices measuring impedance
  • •larger wounds in the area of potential placement of the EIT belt
