People with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation of any age who receive permanent out-of-hospital intensive care (home-based 1:1 care, residential group, ventilation residential community, long-term care facilities).
Medical and nursing care providers:
Nursing care facilities that have
- concluded a care contract according to § 132a Social Code Book V including a supplementary agreement according to § 4 of the relevant framework recommendation of the GKV-SV and who demonstrably care for the above-mentioned patient group,
- provide out-of-hospital intensive care to patients based on § 37c subsection 2 Social Code Book V (or, before November 2020, based on § 37 subsection 2 Social Code Book V) or
- have a care contract pursuant to § 132l, subsection 5 of the German Social Code Book V (or prior to May 2019 based on § 132a, subsection 1, sentence 5 of the German Social Code Book V).
Outpatient medical, medical technology and therapeutic provider:
Health care provider for out-of-hospital mechanical ventilation (e. g. Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, outpatient specialists and general practitioners, home care provider who care for people with out-of-hospital mechanical ventilation and intensive care.
People
- who are not out-of-hospital ventilated
- with out-of-hospital mechanical ventilation and with-out out-of-hospital intensive care
Medical and nursing care providers:
Nursing care facilities that
- have not concluded a care contract according to § 132a Social Code Book V including a supplementary agreement according to § 4 of the relevant framework recommendation of the GKV-SV and who demonstrably care for the abovementioned patient group
- do not provide out-of-hospital intensive care to patients on the basis of § 37c subsection 2 Social Code Book V (or, before November 2020, on the basis of § 37 subsection 2 Social Code Book V),
- have no care contract pursuant to § 132l, subsection 5 of the German Social Code Book V (or prior to May 2019 based on § 132a, subsection 1, sentence 5 of the German Social Code Book V) or
- do not provide care for invasively or non-invasively ventilated people.
Outpatient medical, medical technology and therapeutic providers:
- who do not care for people with out-of-hospital mechanical ventilation and intensive care

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The primary outcome of the ATME project is to describe and analyse cross-sectional patient journeys and care structures of people with out-of-hospital mechanical ventilation and intensive care. Based on the knowledge gained, recommendation for action will be developed for further development of health care in line with needs and requirements.
