- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The time to 1% decrease in SpO2 from baseline (calculated as the elapsed time (in seconds) between baseline (SpO2 in the first second of laryngoscopy) and a reduction of 1% in SpO2 (eg. from 100 to 99%) in paediatric patients.Timepoint: The time to 1% decrease in SpO2 from baseline (calculated as the elapsed time (in seconds) between baseline (SpO2 in the first second of laryngoscopy) and a reduction of 1% in SpO2 (eg. from 100 to 99%) in paediatric patients.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method owest saturation level observed during laryngoscopy in paediatric patients.Timepoint: from cessation of mask ventilation until a confirmatory EtCO2 trace is obtained;Time taken for successful tracheal intubation in paediatric patientsTimepoint: from cessation of mask ventilation until a confirmatory EtCO2 trace is obtained;Time taken to reach lowest level of desaturation .Timepoint: until a confirmatory EtCO2 trace is obtained;Rate of desaturation (Desaturation rate calculated as difference between initial saturation and lowest saturation level reached divided by time in seconds to reach lowest saturation level, will be measured as the percentage per second) in paediatric patientsTimepoint: from cessation of mask ventilation until a confirmatory EtCO2 trace is obtained
