Inclusion Criteria

Inclusion criteria for breast cancer survivors:
1. Age greater than 18 years.
2.Known case of breast cancer and completed primary treatment (surgery,
chemotherapy, radiation therapy and or hormonal therapy) for at least one year and not more than 5
years without the sign of recurrence.
3. Have lived with spouse whom the breast cancer survivor identifies as her
caregiver during cancer diagnosis and treatment. (Caregiving includes being involved in activities as
providing support and encouragement, giving medicine, helping in managing symptoms and side
effects, helping during appointments and travels to hospital, help with meals and chores,
financial help).
4. Be able to access and communicate via telephone or mobile phone.
5. Be able to read, write, and speak effectively in Nepali language.
6. Distress thermometer score of 4 or above 4 in the distress continuum.
7. Her spouse must take part in the study. His age should be greater than 18 years. He has to know survivors diagnosis. Has to be identified as caregiver by survivor. Can communicate using mobile or telephone.

Exclusion Criteria

Exclusion criteria for breast cancer survivor and their spouse (dyad)

1. Any one of them have been diagnosed with psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, depression, psychosis.

2. Any one of them has serious health conditions such as stroke, bed ridden.

3. Have a plan to live separately during the next two months

Withdrawal criteria When the dyad cannot continue taking part in the intervention. The participation of dyads in the study will be withdrawal according to following criteria:

1. If any one of the members of the dyad has serious health condition such as stroke, heart attack, accidents that limits them to continue the intervention.

2. If there is cancer recurrence in the survivor.

3. If the dyad has to live separately during the data collection time.

4. If the dyad cannot be contacted via telephone or mobile phone.
