入选标准
- •1\.Patient or nominated representative willing for consent
- •2\.Patients in the age group 18\-45
- •3\.Patients currently not on treatment with lithium or divalproex sodium, though might have received the same in the past (upto 2 weeks prior to the assessment)
- •4\.Patients with YMRS score \>12 \& HAM\-D \<7 on initial assessment
- •5\.Patients diagnosed with Bipolar affective disorder with current episode mania or hypomania as per DSM 5 criteria
排除标准
- •1\.Patients diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder current episode depressive with psychosis or current episode with psychosis of YMRS \> 12 \& HAM\-D \> 7
- •2\.Patient on any Psychotropic drugs in the past 2 weeks
- •3\.Patient on any other therapy (pharmacological, psychotherapy or somatic therapy) in the current episode
- •4\.Patients diagnosed with other unstable medical (Hypothyroidism, Diabetes inscipidus, Myasthenia gravis, Chronic heart disease, Kidney disease, Hepatic failure, Pancreatitis, Bleeding disorders), neurological (Hyperammonemic encephalopathy, epilepsy) or surgical disorders
- •5\.Patients who were unresponsive to either lithium or divalproex sodium in the past episodes
- •6\.Patients who have received ECT in past 3 months
- •7\.History of intolerance to either lithium or divalproex sodium because of the side effects in the past episodes
- •8\.Pregnant or Breastfeeding Females
- •9\.Substance dependence (except nicotine/ caffeine) in past six months
