Inclusion Criteria
Patients who underwent bariatric surgery using Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB); BMI higher or equal to 35 kg/m2; aged between 20 and 60 years and serum biochemistry outcomes collected before their scheduled RYGB.
Exclusion Criteria
Previous bariatric, disabsortive or restrictive gastrointestinal surgeries; immunosuppressive therapy use; pregnant or planning a pregnancy in the next 6 months; lactation; smoking; cancer and intestinal disabsortive syndromes diagnosis.

Name Time Method Serum reduction in non-HDL cholesterol levels, assessed by biochemicals laboratory measurements, aiming to reduce at least 10% of this parameter after six months of intervention.;Serum reduction in thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels, assessed by biochemicals laboratory measurements, aiming to reduce at least 20% of this parameter after six months of intervention.
