Inclusion Criteria
Any sick neonates and children who requires prothrombin time estimation such as
Sepsis
Perinatal asphyxia
Prematurity
Bleeding
Preanesthetic fitness of emergency surgery
Necrotizing enterocolitis
Liver disorders (hepatitis)
Suspected metabolic disorder (significant acidosis)
Infection
Respiratory support, pneumonia
hemodynamic instability requiring inotropes
Exclusion Criteria
Hemoglobin higher than 18 gm percent
Weight less than 750 grams
Moribund children in whom capillary samples could not be collected
