Patient age range from 18-35 years old with the ability to demonstrate a good oral hygiene
Patient were at the first or last stage of orthodontic treatment
Subjects should be periodontally and systemically healthy
Presence of thin gingival biotype
Patients who were smokers (more than 20 cigarettes a day)
patients suffering from systemic diseases or periodontal diseases
patients have appliances during orthodontic treatment
patients who can’t maintain a good oral hygiene
pregnancy or lactating

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Gingival thickness (GTH). Timepoint: before intervention and 6, 12 months after intervention. Method of measurement: Direct measurement was done with the help of using endodontic file No. (15) with a silicone limiter under local anesthesia. Then the thickness was determined by using electronic digital caliper (High quality LCD Display Electronic Digital Vernier Caliper, china). When the thickness was <1 mm it was categorized as thin biotype and when the thickness was =1 mm it was categorized as thick biotype.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Gingival Biotype. Timepoint: 6, 12 months after intervention. Method of measurement: When the thickness was <1 mm it was categorized as thin biotype and when the thickness was =1 mm it was categorized as thick biotype.;Width of keratinized gingiva (WKG). Timepoint: before intervention and 6, 12 months after intervention. Method of measurement: measuring the distance between gingival margin and mucogingival junction.
