Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
The aim is to show that there is a good agreement between arterial and mathematically corrected venous blood gases during prolonged weaning from the respirator (prologued weaning) and that the v-TAC calculation of venous blood gases instead of arterial blood gases can be reliably used to control weaning. This would greatly facilitate the care of patients in a weaning ward, as almost all patients have a venous access and performing a venous blood gas analysis is much easier in daily practice.
