Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Age between 18 to 80 years old
  • •Schedule for elective major abdominal and thoracic surgery
  • •Plan to place epidural catheter insertion for perioperative and postoperative pain control

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Refuse to participate in the study
  • •ASA physical status \> III
  • •Having contraindication for neuraxial block
  • •Having thoracic spine deformity
  • •Having a history of thoracic spine surgery
  • •Morbid obesity (BMI more than 35 kg/m2\)
  • •Allergy to local anesthetic drug
