Inclusion Criteria

1-adult patients = 18 years old till 70 years old
2- diagnosed with intestinal obstruction or abdominal sepsis,
3- who underwent abdominal surgery to control the source of infection and required postoperative sedation for mechanical ventilation
4- SOFA score = 2 points due to intra-abdominal infection.

Exclusion Criteria

1- patients less than 18 years and more than 70
2- Ischemic heart diseases and heart failure
3-patient with cerebrovascular event
4- patients with neurological deficit
5-pateints with source of infection other than abdominal infection
