Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •¿Age ranged between 18 \- 60 years.
  • •¿ASA physical status: II and III.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •¿Patients with airway and parenchymal lung disease.
  • •¿Pulmonary hypertension more than 100 mmHg.
  • •¿Immunodeficiency.
  • •¿Haematological disorders.
  • •¿Hepatic impairment.
  • •¿Renal impairment.
  • •¿Pregnancy.
  • •¿Morbid Obesity.
  • •¿Diabetic patient.
  • •¿Patients with myocardial ischemia or infarction.

A randomised control trial investigating the effect of remote ischaemic preconditioning and glyceryl trinitrate on peri-operative myocardial injury in cardiac bypass surgery patients (ERIC-GTN study)We are investigating the phenomenon of ischaemic-reperfusion injury. Reperfusion of the ischaemic myocardium is known to cause further myocardial damage.
