Female patients of age 18 and above who are willing to participate in the study will be categorized into two groups (following a detailed clinical evaluation):
1.CONTROLS-The group of normal scalp hair women (controls) which comprises of age matched healthy women.
2.CASES-Women who are clinically diagnosed with Female Pattern Hair Loss
Female patients with:
1.Alopecia areata
2.Telogen effluvium
3.Medical conditions such as nutritional deficiencies, endocrine disorders, auto-immune diseases, chronic liver disease, etc.
4.Hair loss as a result of surgery, trauma, or radiotherapy
5.Scalp disorders-psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and tinea capitis.
6.H/o acute hair loss within 6 months
7.H/o usage of drugs that affect hair growth such as corticosteroids, anticonvulsants, chemotherapeutic agents, antidepressants, etc.
8.H/o hair restoration surgery
9.Patients of age below 18 years.
10.Patients unwilling to participate in the study
