Adult males or females with a diagnosis of chronic periodontitis,chronic periodontitis with type 2 diabetes mellitus,chronic periodontitis patients with hypertension,chronic periodontitis patients with obesity
Criteria for diagnosis of chronic periodontitis is CAL greater than or equal to 5mm, PPD greater than equal to 5mm
Criteria for diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus is if the fasting blood glucose level is greater than or equal to 126 mg/dl (7mmol per L) in several measurements and HbA1c greater than or equal to 6.5% (greater than or equal to 48 mmol per mol Hb)
Criteria for diagnosis of Hypertension is average of the last two readings of systolic blood pressure (SBP) greater than or equal to 140 mmHg and diastolic blood
pressure (DBP) greater than or equal to 90 mmHg
Criteria for diagnosis of Obesity is BMI exceeding 30 kg per m2 and is sub classified
into class 1 (30–34.9), class 2 (35–39.9) and class 3 (greater than or equal to 40)
Pregnant women and lactating mothers,
Heavy smokers (greater than 20 cigarettes per day),
Intake of systemic antibiotics in last 3 months,
Patients who have been previously undergone periodontal therapy,Aggressive periodontitis patients
