The present study analyzes the stigmatizing connotations of the terminology used for describing mental diseases or psychiatric facilities by application of a questionnaire. Notably the most controversial discussed terms were schizophrenia and dementia.

The secondary outcomes are the ranking order of the systematic terminology for wards in a psychiatric-psychotherapeutic clinic and the general evaluation of psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatments and facilities.
