Inclusion Criteria

1.American Society of Anaesthesiologists class â?  and class â?¡

2.Informed consent for participation in study

3.Singleton pregnancy

4.Parturients posted for elective caesarean section

Exclusion Criteria

1.Those unwilling to participate in study

2. Allergy or hypersensitivity to phenylephrine or norepinephrine or any study drug.

3.Height <140 cm or >180 cm

4.Any hypertensive disorder of pregnancy

5.Pre-existing cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease

6.Known fetal abnormalities

7.Contraindications to spinal anaesthesia:

a.Local infection at site of injection

b.Any bleeding disorder

c.Severe hypovolaemia

d.Space occupying lesions of the brain

e.Anatomical disorder of the spine

f.Pre-existing liver diseases
