Inclusion Criteria
cases -all children and adolescents aged less than 18 years diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus with more than 2 year duration
controls-age matched non diabetic children and adolescents suffering from minor illness, attending paediatric department
Exclusion Criteria
subjects with syndromic diabetes mellitus
subjects with neonatal diabetes mellitus
subjects with diabetic ketoacidosis
subjects with co existing renal disorders
subjects with acute kidney injury
