1. Patients who are indicated for maxillary expansion
2. Subjects with healthy periodontal tissues.
3. Subjects with no prior history of orthodontic treatment / orthognathic surgery.
1. Patients with craniofacial deformities
2. Patients with pharyngeal pathologies
3. Patients with nasal obstruction, snoring
4. Patients with obstructive sleep apnea
5. Patients with adenoidectomy , tonsillectomy
6. Subjects with long term use of medications e.g. Antibiotics, phenytoin, cyclosporine, anti-inflammatory drugs ,systemic corticosteroids ,
bisphosphonates
