Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Shoulder pain with palpable taut band in the upper trapezius muscle. Significant pain must be reproduced when pressure is applied over the taut band.
  • Pain intensity is at least 4 out of 10 measured by numeric pain rating scale.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Having neurodeficit or muscle disease
  • Known case of rheumatic disease
  • Having coagulation disorder
  • Previous neck and shoulder surgery
  • Previous failure of treatment with trigger point injection or needling
