Inclusion Criteria
Undergoing elective knee arthroscopy or an elective total hip arthroplasty (posterolateral approach)
between 18 and 70 years
signed informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
pre-existing immune deficiency
use of immunosuppressant drugs
previous orthopedic surgery in the last two years
surgery in the last year
cognitive impairment
vaccination in the last month before surgery
