- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.Vasospasm as assessed on TCD (Transcranial Doppler) and or cerebral angiogram

Clinical signs of vasospasm will also be noted but confirmation for this study will be based on either TCD or angiographic evidence.

2.Serum biomarkers- Area under the curve concentration of S100B and NSE(Neuron Specific Enolase) levels.

Timepoint: 1.TCD will be done every 24 hours until 7-10 days post ictus or until discharge, whichever is earlier.

Cerebral angiography parameters done at the time of diagnosis and subsequently any time thereafter during the hospital stay will be recorded.

2.Serum biomarkers-

Baseline at the time of recruitment (pre- first RIPC)

At 24-36 hours after the first session of RIPC

Repeated at day 7-10 after ictus or at discharge whichever is earlier.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.Neurological status - The Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and GOSE (Glasgow outcome scale-extended) score

2.Regional cerebral oxygenationTimepoint: GCS and regional cerebral oxygenation using NIRS- every 24 hours during the period of stay in the hospital.

GOSE at discharge and at 1, 3 and 6 months through a telephonic interview.
