children aged from completed 1 to 30 months with clinically diagnosed acute viral LRTIS pneumonia or bronchiolitis admitted in PICU with moderate and severe respiratory distress and/or failure
1.suspected and/or diagnosed bacterial pneumonia
2.pneumonia with parapneumonic effusion
3.pulmonary oedema (cardiogenic and non cardiogenic)
4.systemic infection causing respiratory infection
5.cardiac disease
6. children who have received any systemic steroids for more than 24 hours prior to admission
chronic or recurrent lung diseases
debilitating neurological illnesses
